Post, who became principal and later president of the school. It became a four-year college in In , Teikyo University transferred control of the university to a new board of directors, and the school was renamed Post University.

Post University is a small school with a big reach. Founded in in Waterbury, Connecticut, it has a traditional on-campus undergraduate population, as well as vital evening and weekend, graduate, and online education programs. The university offers 17 undergraduate majors including equine business management, legal studies, and sports management, as well as the more typical business and liberal arts majors. The student body breaks down into 60 percent female and 40 percent male; and one percent international students, with 15 countries represented.
